I used to have the cutest little gray tabby named Tabitha Galadriel. Her name was literally bigger than she was. I lost her to
FIP a few years ago when she was only 1 1/2 years old. FIP is a fatal virus for cats. There is not a lot known about it and there is no cure. It spreads quickly attacking the immune system and is highly contagious among cats. I had 2 other cats at the time as well, Demitra Gandalf and Gideon Aragorn. (By their names, can you guess what movie I loved at the time?) They had played and lived with Tabby since I first found her when she was a couple of weeks old. At the time she was sick, they showed no symptoms as she did of having this virus. I was told that they were now considered carriers of the disease. Cats who were exposed often showed no signs for years and then one day, the virus switches it up and will start attacking their immune system. I was told this generally happened within 2-3 years.....of course I have no idea when they were exposed, but I was told I would be lucky if they lived to be 5 years old. So every time they have sneezed or slept through a meal.....I overreact. But today.....today I celebrate.....for today they are still asymptomatic and today.....they celebrate their 7th birthday!!!! I will continue to overreact of course, but I don't want to let it overshadow the time I have with them. They are big, hairy, gentle and loving cats and are an important part of my family.

Not to be left out, here is a picture of Ani....full name Anakin Jaden (in case you were wondering):

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY TO ZANDER O'RILEY:
(the cutest lil leprechaun ever!!!)

An Irish prayer for all my boys:
May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends, A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.
