I have been holding my breath all day. Too afraid of a repeat of 2000 or 2004......
But.....at 10:00 pm CST MSNBC declared
Barack Obama President-Elect!!!!!
I can finally breathe!!!!
I said a little prayer last night before I went to bed......well, I usually do.....but I asked God to let His will be done (and to let His will be that Barack Obama be President)!
It never hurts to ask....right?
SWEEEEEET!!!!!
I'm just too happy.....I swear....I won't keep dwelling on this on my blog.....but I have to right now......I just feel so happy that America has come so far......that we will have our 1st African American President....that people did not listen to gutter politics this year......that they ignored the fear campaign......that there were massive lines today - record numbers of people went out to vote! So happy that I got to witness this in my lifetime....in Zander's lifetime, even though he won't remember this - I will remind him!
I remember when I graduated from basic training! It was a tough and tiring 8 weeks. When we stood at attention and said the Pledge of Allegiance and sang the National Anthem....I cried! I was sooooo proud to be an American and to take an oath to protect my country. It just meant more on that day.
Today, I have that same proud feeling.

Very very proud, and very very happy! So glad we got to talk briefly tonight, so that we could share our happiness.
I am so PUMPED this am I can barely stand myself. What a kickass day!
Theres a whole new world waiting outside my door this morning!
I didn't sleep well last night. I kept tossing and turning remembering the 2000 elections. I was afraid I would awake up to news of a recount. When I turned on the TV this morning, I clapped my hands and did a happy dance!
I was so jacked up last night I couldn't sleep!! So much adrenaline!! I'm just SO excited!!!!!
I think that no one can dispute that this election brought out the best and the worst of everyone but in the end, it brought us out. We all came out to vote and participate in the American process that you fought for us to have. Thank you for your service:-)
I have hope now, that's for sure. And some Extra Pep in My Step. The only thing that disappoints me, though, is Missouri. So close, and yet so far away! But this is gonna be one interesting administration. I don't think I've ever seen a politician with less cynicism. Which is a GREAT thing!
Yay, look Karla is breathing again!
I too am so happy for this new era!
