In the spring of 2002, the company I worked for sent me to London to train some people in their office. I took a long weekend while I was there to fly to Munich to visit my cousin, Eric. He showed me all over the place it seemed. This is one of our side trips.
We took a train outside of Munich to Bavaria to a little village called Oberammergau. This is one of the most beautiful places I think I've ever seen....it was out of a storybook. This was only the first part of our trip that day...but I took a million pictures everywhere we went...so I have to break it up.
We got off the train here in this village and had a few hours before we had to catch our bus to our next stop. This is what it looked like when we walked into Oberammergau....
We sort of crashed a wedding......
We went into the local church....very beautiful....
No, its not Pinnochio....but its me and some wooden guy.... he looks a lot like he's made out of a big block of Velveeta though....doesn't he?
My cousin and I goofing off in the park.
Outside of the village....the countryside is beautiful too.....
If you are ever in Munich and need something to do for the day....definitely get on a train and go here. I'd love to spend the night here....it just seems so quaint and everyone was so friendly.
I didn't know it at the time, but the whole town puts on a passion play every 10 years. People come from all over to see.

I absolutely agree with you, it does look like it is out of a fairy tale! Magical.
I wonder what these residents think when they see pictures of our cities.
