Trick Or Treat.......

Halloween was a lot of fun. It didn't necessarily start out that way because Z hasn't been feeling well lately and he's been very grumpy.....that's putting it lightly.

We went to Aunt Kim and Uncle John's house for dinner....we had chili...yum!!! Normally, that would really hit the spot on a cool October evening in Saint Louis.....except that it was in the 70's....it was still good though.

Then we took some family photos on her back porch because the trees behind her house were beautiful with the changing colors. Let's see....for Kim's pictures.....her dogs weren't cooperating.....Dara wasn't cooperating.....and I couldn't even get Uncle John to smile.

Z wasn't cooperating for ours. All he wanted to do was ride Dara's tricycle.....phooey on pictures.

Later on it was time to Trick or Treat. I mentioned Z was disagreeable already....right?

Well, for some reason he will listen to Aunt Kim and/or Cousin Nikki - even when he won't listen to anyone else. So, he let Nikki dress him. I knew he wouldn't let me because I can never get him to wear a vest or a jacket....and his outfit required a vest.

I love this picture....even though he looks like the saddest Diego ever!!!

The costumes make a little more of an impact when you see them together - Dora and Diego!
Awww......kissing cousins!!!

Here is Zander's rescue pack.....

(oh yes, you look at it...because I had to buy it for one night and he will probably never wear it again!)

Here is Dara's backpack......can you see it? She is even squatting so you can see it better!

Dara had to add her own style to Dora - screw those yellow socks and white tennis shoes.....this Dora wore purple crocs!

So, we had a little crisis that evening. I had packed 3 pairs of dark blue shorts for Zander's outfit to take to Aunt Kim's - in case he got a pair wet - or one made his butt look too big..... But, I totally forgot to pack him a light blue shirt. I had 2 shirts to bring for him - one long sleeved, one short sleeved. You just never know what the weather is going to be like here. I forgot them both! Luckily, Dara had a light blue one with Mowgli on the front......gotta love those tagless shirts. We flipped it around and voila......Go Diego Go!
Whew! Crisis averted!

Ella went as "a baby"....I thought she pulled it off well....very convincing....

Zander was a little mopey when we set out and walked really slow. Dara could not contain her excitement....she was bursting with energy.
(I think she was hyped up on candy before we even left the house)

Once we went to the first house and Zander figured what this was all about.....he got excited. Now, it wasn't "Dara excited"....but it was "excited" none-the-less.

There was one house we went to that had scary music from the Halloween music play when the motion sensor was triggered. When we were leaving the music came on:

Me: "Oh Zander, lets hurry and get away from the scary Michael music.

At the very same time I said that, Dara said, "Nice music."
I swear nothing scares her and nothing slows her down.

Kim, Nikki and I ended up taking turns carrying Z after a little while because he started breathing kind of heavy.....he's still phlegmy so we didn't want to make it any worse.

It was a fun night.....we got waaaaay too much candy.....and mommy took home a really sleepy baby that went right to bed!

He looks so cute. Ned was Spiderman and this was the first year he really got into it. He got a huge haul of candy and I have insisted I help him with it!
