Letter to JC Penney Portrait Studios

Zander had his 2 year/Christmas pictures taken on 11-22-08. It was NOT a good experience! I kept meaning to write a letter of complaint about it....but things kept coming up and I didn't get a chance.....until the other day they sent me a survey via email. They said they really wanted my opinion.
Well, here it goes....I actually was very nice about it.....I don't even think it begins to convey how utterly angry I am with them:

I'm glad you asked me to do this survey, because I was about to write a letter of complaint....and I still might actually. My appt was at 10:00 for my 2 year old child. Apparently the appts were scheduled EVERY 10 MINUTES....therefore, we didn't actually get called in until 11:00!!!! A ONE HOUR DELAY IS NOT GOOD with a toddler!!! If I was frustrated and tired of waiting...imagine how he was! There were actually 4 other 2 year olds in the waiting room causing their parents as much frustration as well. And by then, my son had gotten crayon marks on his clothes and his hair was messed up from me wrestling with him as he tried to escape out the front door of the mall. You need actual doors on the front of your store so kids can't wander out...since kids are who you cater to. While the photographer was good and patient with him...I didn't get the choice of what props I wanted in the pictures. I wish the manager of that store would realize that what she thinks is great for a shot is not necessarily what I think looks good. We've differed on this the last couple of times I've been in that store...I'm actually glad when I go there and she isn't there. Different strokes for different folks people. Just because I'm not a photographer by profession, does not mean I don't have any ideas of what I would like to see in a picture....of my son...that I'm PAYING for! So, while I've been a loyal customer since my son was born, I was so frustrated when I left after my last visit, that I doubt I will ever be back.

Here are the pics......

Except for the 1st picture, I only bought their traditionals. I did the collages myself.....for free...on Picnik.com. So, they didn't turn out that bad....only because Zander is adorable!

Yeah...I will NEVER do the professional photgraphers again. I take them myself and do what you did (with editing.) BUT, those pics of Z are SO cute. So, so cute. I think the last one is my favorite. Sorry your visit was so terrible...but the collages you made were worth it!! :)

I'll have to check back later to see the pics, but seriously - an HOUR wait??? That's REDICULOUS!!!

Zander is such a cutie. An hour is WAY too long for a little guy to wait. Boo to JC Penney.

Great photos Karla, Zander can be a little poser.

Merry Christmas to you and yours, and all the commenters here.

Love the new look, and the Beautiful Boy! If those shots don't say "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," nothing does!

Oh yeah. An hour wait anywhere, with a toddler, is no good! They should know better than that!

The pictures are adorable! You did a great job with the editing/collaging (is that a word?? LOL)

Have you thought of selling his image to Hallmark? Seriously...I hear they pay big bucks. Z is a doll, through & through!

Ugh! Isn't the whole point of having an appointment is that you are seen at the time of said appointment?!!!?!?

But the pics did turn out great... I love what you've done with them!
