So, today 22 states vote for who they want the nominees to be. And as I get more and more interested in politics and why things are the way they are.....it frustrates me that it isn't more simple. Like the popular vote....hmmm....doesn't really matter as much as the American population is led to believe. Its more of a guideline...which can easily be overthrown by the delegates and the infamous Electoral College (Ex: 2000 Election when Gore won the popular vote). So, as I now spend the rest of the year hoping to get a Democrat elected as President, I want to also remember that after this election, I need to start actively doing something to eradicate the Electoral College. Campaign reform needs to go along with that. The whole process of the election should be so much simpler.....but its so mucked up by all of the extra crap that has been piled on. All of the candidates talk about the budget and who is better at managing it....but how many millions of dollars have been spent on campaigning? How many people would that have fed? Provided medical care for? Provided utilities for? How much infrastructure could have been repaired with that money? Ok, enough of that....its boring talk.
Its cold and rainy here today. We're back to 30 to 40 degree weather and God must be really upset at someone because it has been thundering and lightening all evening. I believe it conveniently started right about the time everyone got off work so they could drive home in it.
Oh, so today is also Fat Tuesday....does anyone care? Yeah, me either. Zander likes the Mardi Gras necklaces.....but he gets his at the $1 store. I guess so long as he doesn't start giving them to infant girls who take off their onesies for him its all good.
So below is the image for today. I chose this one for those people that think all Z does is smile. Well, he throws tantrums too...and this picture caught him in the beginning of one. It kind of reflects how I feel today. Its raining, my back hurts and I'm just grumpy. Hopefully tomorrow's weather will be full of sunshine....and hopefully I will be too!!!
