Recap: Last week in Politics

Ok, so my memory isn't so good anymore, so I'm going to write this all down because a lot of significant things happened last week.

  • Barack Obama made 2 significant speeches, one on race, one on the Iraq war and the economy. I had heard he was going to make 3 speeches....did I miss one?

The first speech on race can be seen or read here.

The second speech can be read here.

  • McPain repeatedly keeps accusing Iran of training Al-Qaeda.....and then says "Oops, I meant extremists, not Al-Qaeda." This is NOT a mistake 'my friends'....he is doing this on purpose. The more you hear it, the more you will eventually believe Iran is training Al- Qaeda. This Karl Rove trick worked in 2003 when Bush convinced America that Iraq had something to do with 9/11.....they didn't! But enough people believed it....so that brings us to the next bullet point....

  • Happy 5th Anniversary, Iraq War!!!!

  • Bill Richardson endorsed Barach Obama! He is a close friend of the Clintons', but said he felt that Obama's speech on race convinced him that only Obama could unite America and the rest of the world. Billary claims this is not a big deal. Can you imagine how she would have paraded him out to the press though if he had endorsed her? Yeah, but its not a big deal.

  • Cheney spoke....and once again convinced me that he is the devil. When asked about polls showing two-thirds of Americans don't think the war in Iraq is worth it, replied: "So?" He of course neglected to add "Because I'm making tons of money personally off of this war."

  • As today, Easter Sunday, 4000 American soldiers have now died in Iraq. Was a war waged on lies worth it?

  • Lastly, McPain is pushing for 10 years of war (he said it today)......I guess that is better than the 100 years he was all for a few weeks ago.
