Zander's Easter

I feel very blessed to be Zander's Mom. I appreciate him every day, but it becomes even more self-evident during the holidays. They mean so much more now that I have him.

Yesterday was Easter Sunday. It came pretty early this year and it was cold and snowy. So at church, the little girls had to have sweaters over their cute frilly dresses and all the boys had on dress pants and sweater vests. They were all still VERY cute. It seemed like all of the little ones were cranky though....not a very festive mood. Zander stayed in his big boy class without me again....only because THANKFULLY Nikki and Dara showed up. I took him to his class and he was clingy and crying... and then out in the hall I heard Dara. As soon as I told him Dara was there....the tears stopped! I had to then rush off to the nursery because I was working. Nikki said he cried after me a little bit, but then they mentioned snacks again and he was fine. Gotta love those snacks!!! There were 15 kids in Zanders room....that was A LOT! The church was packed yesterday morning....they had to start filling up the overflow room upstairs where people could watch the sermon on the screen. That is one of the good things about Christianity....people will tend to skip church all year long...but they show up for Easter! You can always count on them at Easter and Christmas! God's pretty awesome in that he always welcomes us back...even when we are too busy for him when the weather is nice or we want to sleep in...whatever the reason. But it goes to show that the belief in God is still there. Ok, I digress.....

The whole family gathered at Mom and Dad's house for dinner. She fixed a turkey and ham with all the fixins'. It had been awhile since we all got together so it was nice to visit....seems things have been so busy lately. I got to hold Ella again....she's still pretty tiny! She's spoiled now too, she wants to be held all the time. These babies sure do learn that quick! Zander was so tired but didn't want to take a nap with everyone there - of course he was going to miss something spectacular!!! So, he was kind of rowdy and whiny....off and on. He and Dara kept climbing on the table, or the fireplace, or getting into the bathroom...pretty much whatever they weren't supposed to do, they did. He finally took a late nap and I had to wake him up so we could go home and take care of Ani, Giddy and D.

He played well for the rest of the night. He has had a bad runny nose for several days now and we've been giving him Benadryl. He must be getting a molar or something. Every time he gets a tooth, here comes the runny nose. Poor little guy sounds so raspy at night when he's sleeping.

I made him an Easter basket that I was pretty proud of....and.....he pretty much wanted nothing to do with it. I gave it to him when we first got to my mom's house. He was more interested in playing with her pots and pans at that time. But the basket had a Mr. Potato Head Bunny, a stuffed bunny, green peeps, a toothbrush, and some squirty bath toys.

Aunt Mary brought a stuffed bunny for each of the kids as well. There were cute bunnies everywhere! He did end up playing with his stuff after we got home. I also ordered him a Disney movie - 101 Dalmations - but it hasn't arrived yet.

Hope everyone had a safe and happy Easter!
