So, I got back from Mexico Sunday afternoon. Angie and I had SUCH a great time - we didn't want to leave. But I was missing my boy, so I actually had the perfect amount of time there. That, and the fact that I got a heat rash so every time I got in the sun I felt like my arms and the stripe on my legs were on fire! Yep, that's right - I have a stripe of heat rash on the back of my legs. It is about 1 inch wide and goes over the back of both calves - it's the weirdest thing. I was so ticked to get heat rash and I couldn't figure out why. I've only gotten it once before, and that was when I was in Panama for 2 1/2 weeks.....and it was over 100 degrees in the shade there. I finally figured out this time it was because of some medication I was on, so I guess I was damned if I do, damned if I don't. But it really was a great vacation. I took tons of pictures. I started doing a scrapblog of them, but honestly that is going to take me forever. If anyone wants to see them with no captions or anything, here you go: My Mayan Journey The scrapblog, when I'm done, will definitely help explain why I took some of the pictures I did. Not that I need to explain, because seriously, thanks to memory cards instead of film, I can take as many pictures of a tree that I want to! Don't judge me!
So, Zander had stayed with Grandma and Grandpa while I was gone. Apparently he was quite the crabapple while I was away. His gums have REALLY been bothering him. My mom said that Sunday morning, Zander had handed her a spoon and pointed to his Ibuprofen on the counter. That was pretty smart of him. When I was unpacking that evening though, he handed me a spoon AND the Ibuprofen! Even smarter! Thank God for child-proof lids too!!! His reach is so long now there doesn't seem to be anywhere for me to put anything that he can't get ahold of. I keep moving things up and up and up. Pretty soon, I will have everything hanging from hooks from the ceiling...and even I won't be able to reach them.
So, funny story: Zander handed me his "Basil Bear Learns to Tell Time" book last night. I'm never quite sure of his and Grandma's process when reading a book. They have their way of doing things and it takes me a bit to catch up. So, there is a clock on every page and Basil also has a pocket watch for learning to tell time. So, Zander points to the pocket watch and I say "pocket watch. Can you say watch?". He starts saying something and I can't tell at the time what he is saying, but its not "watch". So he then turns the page and points to the clock and says it again. Then he points to Basil's watch and says the same thing. I finally figure out he is saying "clock". I spoke to my mom later and she says he likes to point to all the clocks and say "clock". Well, the funny part of the story, which is why I felt the need to tell it anyway, is that Zander can't really say "L" yet....so he isn't saying "cLock"....go ahead, say it to yourself without the "L". Yep, that is what my boy is going around saying now. I have to let him say it....I can't tell him "clock" is a bad word.
Ese es todo para ahora.....mas adelante!!!
