Happy Mother's Day

Despite the rainy and cold weather we had a very nice weekend. Zander and Grandpa hung out together Friday night so that Grandma and I could go to church for the annual Revive Dinner. Revive is the women's Ministry at church and this year almost 300 women attended the dinner. It was catered by Andre's and some of the men in the church were the servers again. There were attendance prizes again too. This year Mom and I both won (last year neither one of us won anything). I won a very nice set of silver earrings with different colored interchangeable balls to go in them and Mom won a nice plaque to hang on her wall. One of the nicest parts of the evening, besides getting to catch up with women I hadn't seen in awhile, was the speaker. Her name is Melissa Lee and she is one of Holly Reed's friends from Tennessee. She is very funny, which is nice since her own personal story is not funny at all. She has a blog too and I've linked it to mine (see Stretch Marks) so I can maybe get inspiration from that when I need it.

Saturday was very hectic. I had to drop my car off at Dobbs for a balance and rotation. Then I had to drop Anakin off at the groomer's (see his spiffy new doo below) and then take Zander for his 18 month checkup. All is well in Zanderland. Dr. Quinn said he seems on target for everything and his stats are now all within 7% of each other....so his height is catching up to his weight. She said she isn't sure why he's so tall now since I'm not tall and neither is Chirag, so time will tell. Here are his stats: 32.14lbs (97%), 34 inches tall (90%) and head is 51cm (somewhere in the 90% range). He had to get one shot and this time, he didn't cry (although I could have for him).

So, yesterday I got to celebrate my 2nd Mother's Day with Zander. It was very cold and rainy Sunday morning, so I had to winterize the spring outfits I had picked out for Zander and me. But it was still a really good day. We went to church and he cried at first, but ended up staying in his class again without me. He made me a flower in his class (I'm sure he didn't actually help much). He came running out of his class after church with the flower in his hand and then as soon as he got to me....he dropped it so he could grab me. No biggie. I still got the flower after I got to squeeze my little guy. I'll put that in the scrapbook I still intend to make someday. Then the whole family went to The Pasta House which is where we go every Mother's Day. It started out rough, Dara was quite rowdy. But Kim had a talk with her and she actually behaved much better after that. I got Pasta Con Broccoli since I'm trying to avoid tomatoes right now, all the other Moms got the Spaghetti, which was the Special for Mom's. After we ate, Zander and I went home and took a nap. That was very nice on a rainy day. He woke up in a really good mood. We read a couple of books and then he watched a couple of episodes of Jack's Big Music Show while he ate again. I kept hugging and kissing on him because I'm already starting to miss him. Mom and Dad came and got him Sunday evening. I'll see him again tomorrow, but I leave for Mexico Wednesday morning. Its been hectic getting ready for this trip and I can't believe its finally here. I feel really lucky to have won it! It'll be nice to get away for a few days, but I'm really gonna miss my Z! I wonder what new thing he'll be doing by the time I get back. His new thing now is "Mine".....everything is "Mine".

Happy Mother's
Day to all the
proud Mom's!!!!
