We didn't get ready for bed til about 9:3o last night. That's kinda late for us. Z has been sleeping with me now for awhile (hey, its just easier for me right now, don't judge). So, I have his baba (bottle) and his blanket. He crawls up on the bed and I turn out the light. We both settle in and I thought great, he'll go to sleep, then I can get on the computer for awhile. Well, Z had other plans. He drank his bottle...shook it a bit to make sure EVERY SINGLE DROP was gone, then handed me the bottle.
Me: Thanks, Z! Good night! Mommy loves you!
He rolls over...so I think he's going to sleep. He turns his head back around.
Z: Hi. Hi. Hi. Hi. Hi.
Me: Hi! Good night!
Z: Hi. Hi. Hi. Hi.
Me: Shhhh. It's night night time. Go to sleep.
Silence
Z: Tickle. Tickle. Tickle. (all the while tickling himself)
I'm trying hard to not laugh outloud.
This goes on for awhile.
Me: Shhh...go to sleep.
Silence
Z: (yelling) Cow! Cow! Cow!
Me: There is no cow in here.
Z: (insistant) Cow! Cow!
Me:(realizing now what he wants) Oh, you want the cow pillow?
Z: (pants like a dog - when he pants, that means yes)
I get him his cow pillow....it is a pillow shaped like a cow. Enough said.
Now Z keeps saying cow, like a question. Cow? Am I supposed to verify that this is indeed a cow?
Me: Yes, Z, its a cow. Now go to sleep. (I'm getting a litte more stern at this point).
Silence
Z: Hot. Hot. Hot.
Me: You're not hot. Shhhhh...go to sleep.
Z: Tickle. Tickle. Tickle.
Uggghhhhh......
I don't know what time he finally fell asleep. I just let him keep talking. It was after 10:00 when I finally rolled over and let him ramble on......

Oh the joys of bedtime!
That's a really cute conversation, though. Especially since he's not my kid. ;-)

I know this game well.
That happens a lot at our house, except Porgie is in her crib. Some nights she stays awake babbling to herself until 10:00 or 11:00 pm.
so funny - all my kids still sleep with me!
