Its simple, nothing fancy, but its using what would otherwise be wasted space in a corner. (Ignore the water pipe, we haven't put the door over that yet)
My Dad did the measuring as my house is not square and my math is not great. He then cut the boards with his table saw. We reused boards that used to be the shelves in my closets when I moved into the house a few years ago. I had already switched those out with the wire shelving, so I saved some money by keeping these boards. It did require some sanding and spackling on my part (I love spackling....it'll fix about anything)...then all I had to do was paint and install.
They would look a lot better with some molding on the front, but its not really necessary for where it is in the house. Plus...then I couldn't call this project done and I really want to because I need to cross something off my list!
Now if only I can keep Z away from those movies....

Great idea. I have some wasted space in my bathroom between my shower and the wall. I have thought about doing something like this... maybe now I will. Thanks for the inspiration.
Those are nice shelves!!! Good luck keeping the little guy out of the movies!!
Great use of space, but I was wondering quietly to myself, I wonder how long Z is going to leave those on the shelf. When ours were on the entertainment center, which seems like the logical place for movies, I had to pick them up 701 times every day! Ugh!
Good for you! I don't mean to brag but I finish everything I start.
People magazines. Hershey bars. Everything.
Oh...and by the way, Zander may feel he's old enough to leave home. But take the purse away from him Karla, take the purse.
Thanks for checking in with me. And I DO NOT suggest you hunt down a Catfish King anytime soon my friend.

I love the shelves. They look really good. Reminds me of something that would be on that TV show "Wasted Spaces". I think it is on the DIY channel. I like the color of your walls too. Is that like a buttercup?
Oooooo, it turned out fabulous!!
Very nice. Could you come to my house and finish some of my home improvement projects? That would be great! Thanks!
P.S. You can bring your dad along too.
