Tids-N-Bits - 3

Well, Friday, I am happy to say......I came straight home from work and did my first 'Couch 2 5k' workout. I sucked at it big time too! I may be one of the slow kids that has to repeat the first week. We'll see. I know I'm way out of shape, so I'm just glad to be doing something...even if I'm bad at it.

After my workout I went to our first bowling meeting/practice. It seriously should have been a 20 minute meeting to go over the rules. That *%&^** meeting lasted over an hour. There was one person that kept questioning EVERYTHING!!! And he was arguing for the sake of argument. I mean seriously, this is our league's 4th year. So, the rules are pretty much the same every year....we're not trying to reinvent the wheel here. Seriously, it was like watching paint dry! The Annoying One, as I will call him was on my team when I bowled 3 seasons ago. I really couldn't stand him then either. He is an odd one to say the least....and that is about as nice as I can be about it. Bowling night is his big night out...he lives for it! Now bowling is fun....but seriously, it isn't THAT fun! He kept wanting to put the stupidest things to a vote. I finally made a motion to move on and half the room seconded my motion......done! Moving on! So, I only got to bowl one practice game before I left because I had to pick up Zander.

Saturday was my sewing class. It wasn't really what I expected. For a beginner class I guess I thought they would go over the basics a little more. But we got right in to the pattern for our tote and started cutting and sewing. Our teacher was really nice, but there were 8 students, so she was really busy the entire time. She did stay later than our 3 hours so we could finish. The first lady that finished was all serious about her tote. She didn't talk to any of us and her whole mission was to be done first and leave. Her attitude made me look absolutely giddy! Which I'm usually not.....but I socialized and had a good time. I met a couple of nice people, Annette and Katie, they were a mother and daughter that were taking the class together. The other ladies were nice but I didn't catch their names. And, I was the 2nd one in my class to finish my project. Here it is....my new tote:

Sunday was church, I worked in the nursery....I could have probably used a good sermon to remind me to be less judgemental of people. But, alas, I didn't hear a sermon.....so, woe is me! I heard several crying babies because their mother's breastfeed and so they didn't leave them any bottles....but I'm not bitter yes I am....you could at least leave them a bottle....geez...would it kill you....you mean your baby is 9 freakin' months old and you can't leave it a **&^&%&^^ bottle......thank you, you thoughtless *(^&*^(*)......I love having 5 crying babies for 1.5 hours I know this is a hot topic for some......but its not fair to caregivers if you are taking your boobies with you and leaving us with nothing to calm your child. Uh, and they tend to steal other baby's bottles then too. I'm just sayin'........

Then my family all met up later in the afternoon at my sister's house for my nephew's 17th birthday party!!! Zander had a good time playing with all of Dara's toys - and Ella's too apparently....

I did take other pics besides Zander. Not many though, as my battery went dead. I did take some of Dara and Zander though that deserve their own post.....so those will be up later this week.

Bushism O' the Week:

And, I'm going to end this with 2 Bushism's.....because I have forgotten to add them the past couple of weeks.....and well, in the past 7 years there have just been too many not to share:

Yo, Blair. How are you doing? --George W. Bush St. Petersburg, Russia 06/16/2006 to Tony Blair at the G8 summit

But the true threats to stability and peace are these nations that are not very transparent, that hide behind the --that don't let people in to take a look and see what they're up to. They're very kind of authoritarian regimes. The true threat is whether or not one of these people decide, speak of anger, try to hold us hostage, ourselves --the Israelis, for example, to whom we'll defend, offer our defenses --the South Koreans. --George W. Bush Washington, DC 03/13/2001 in a media roundtable discussion

Well, I was one of those Mommys who didn't use bottles and I did hardly ever leave them....I know! But, it was best for us. But, I always got a little pager and if there was a problem they paged me or they came running to get me. I will say that my last two really never cried and I could leave them fine for an hour or even more.By nine months mine were rking some watered down juice from a sippy cup though. Actually, mine were pretty good because they were just happy to be out and about!
I love your tote...How cute and you made that is incrediable...Where are they classes?

Your tote is very good, well done! You are such a social person, here there and everywhere, I don't know how you do it!

I have to say, Bush drives me crazy but usually only when he opens his mouth!

Oh Zander is so precious!!
I had a breast feeding incident in the nursery at mother's day out. It is so annoying, and yes, they do steal other bottles in desperation.
If you continue the couch to 5k you will be amazed. I am a running addict now!!! Keep it up!

Ok so first things first here mame. When do I get a tote? I mean you should make one and have a contest. but I should be the only one allowed to enter. lol

I love it it's awesome.

Also I'm sorry about the booby mothers. I never breastfed guess that's why I never had this problem.

Rhonda - I took the sewing class at Jackman's...its a sewing store here in town. I just looked online at different stores' schedules and picked one that worked for me.

Molly - HA! Thanks! It's all an allusion. Most of the time I am at home watching Noggin!

Courtney - I'm looking forward to seeing how I progress with C25k...Not just with weight but with endurance as well!

Kori - Good idea! I have to figure out my sewing machine now because its much more manual than theirs was. Once I make a few more practice totes I'll have to have a contest!

Hippie Tricia - Yeah, I tried hard to keep quiet in the meeting. But, you know how it goes.... You know you would have fun if you went though....especially if we bowled on the same nights! I'd let you buy me a soda too!

That's a cute tote. ;-) I'm learning to sew also. I tried to take a class but it was canceled. Not enough people signed up. But a friend taught me how to make rag quilts, so I started with that. :)

I'm a breast feeding mom, but uumm I pump. It's not like they have to switch to formula in order to leave a bottle. - I'm with ya. If you're going to have someone watch your baby then leave *something* for the baby!!

I can barely get Izzy to take a bottle, so I probably wouldn't have left a bottle either. You would have been angry with me! Would it be okay if the people left a jar of food instead?

I love your tote! Too cute! Where did you take the sewing class at?

Zander is soooo stinking cute! And, good job on the bag! My very first sewing class was the same way... They expected us to make a fringed purse. The first night. I didn't even know how to turn my machine on. But, I did it and I'm still sewing three years later. Have fun!!!! Oh, and lmao at the C25K. I'm starting tonight. Yikes!

yes... I agree with the whole "no boobie, leave bottle" mantra. :)

And fabulous FABULOUS tote!! I've given up thinking I'm actually going to get my sewing machine out. GIVEN UP. Wait. Maybe when my little girl is old enough and I want to teach her to sew!! :)

BTW I came over from Blog Around the World

That tote is adorable! I love the patterns. I want to learn how to sew very badly, but I haven't gotten up the gumption to take a class yet.
