Thursday went great! We had so much fun hanging out together! It rained all day.....but that didn't matter.
Friday was good too! We spent the day at home but found plenty to do.
Saturday....well, Saturday I said "No" WAY too many times. He told ME "No" WAY too many times!
By Sunday, I was ready to go back to work.
So, Zander, here's how our time went:
If I was doing something with you, life was grand. If I sat on the couch and did nothing but watch you watch tv or play with your toys, then all was well. You seemed so good at occupying yourself. So, I thought I could, oh - I don't know.....clean something or cook or just do something in the other room.
But you have some sort of "super toddler sense" or radar.
As soon as I left the room, you went into stealth mode. You became a quiet superninja....moving silently to your next destination. Your mission -
You can make a mess at such a fast pace, that I, being a mere human, cannot keep up. For I am still cleaning one mess while you have quickly moved on to the next.
Here is a list of just some of the things you did:
1. You kept dismantling your high chair and climbed all over it. I was just sure you were going to fall off of it and hit your head.
2. I cannot keep you out of the oven. You are constantly "cooking" with your pots and pans. You "bake" your wooden beads and pretty much anything else you can think of. You don't care that I have just REALLY baked something so the oven might be HOT!
3. You also feel the need to reach the kitchen counter, either by standing in a drawer or on the door of the oven - both of which you are WAY too heavy for. Even after I have told you a million and 1 times to not do that. So, really, what is a million and 2 times going to do?
4. I was in the living room while you were in the kitchen. I heard you banging around so I figured you were "cooking" again. It got quiet for a couple of minutes and I started smelling something perfumy. I rushed into the kitchen to find you happily stomping around in green goo. You had poured my new bottle of Downy on the floor. (There were no pictures taken of this - I was totally NOT in the mood to say the least.)
I stuck you and your shoes and your clothes in the bathtub IMMEDIATELY. I will say on the brighter side....my kitchen smelled mountain fresh and your crocs looked shiny and new. That, of course, is beside the point!
5. Later that evening I caught you with my nail polish. Now, how you found it I have no idea. Not even I know where my nail polish is most of the time. But, you have a 'super spidey sense' that sniffs these things out. You had it open but I thought I caught you with it pretty quickly as you hadn't gotten it on anything you were near.
I didn't notice until a few minutes later that you had managed to paint one of your toe nails. You are not even 2 years old yet - but you did a pretty decent job I will admit. Again, though, that is beside the point.
6. You CANNOT be trusted with an ink pen. I swear - you look like someone off of Miami Ink.
(Yes, honey, I know you were tired. But, mommy has to get her pictures for her blog...you understand, right? And, no, that is not blood on your forehead....it is ketchup....)
7. You throw things when you get mad. You DO NOT LISTEN to me when I tell you to stop. Do you know I haven't seen the back of my head for days......because you threw my mirror and broke it.....and then got mad at me for throwing away the broken mirror.....you even got it out of the trash can.......so I made you mad again when I threw it away again....I really wish I knew what my hair looked like in the back.....hope its not sticking out everywhere.
8. You are quite a little brute with your freakish strength. THIS is why the animals won't let you love on them. Your love hurts, honey.
The other morning I watched as you tried to PICK UP my bed!
I was on the phone with Grandpa at the time:
Me: Dad, you are never going to guess what Z is doing. He is grabbing onto one of the legs on my bed and trying to lift it up.
Papa: Tell him I'll give him 20 bucks if he gets it off the floor.
Is this a 'boy' thing?
(sigh)

Oh my God!!! He's Bam Bam!!
The picture of him standing in the drawer is so very cute! I know he must be a handful and a joy...a hand full of joy!
Yeah, I'd say you've got a handful with this one! But in a good way.
And the conversation with your dad is HILARIOUS!
He sounds like a completely normal toddler to me, except Porgie would have thrown in a few puking episodes for fun.
And I understand the missing him on Monday, despite his badness. I am always complaining that I need some baby-free time, but if I even go to the store without my babies, I feel a little lost.
Oh he is just the cutest. How can you not love that face.
I have been there with both of my boys. I feel your pain. It does get a little better as they get older. Just be patient. Enjoy these times cause you'll miss 'em later.
Also have I mentioned I am loving the polka dots.
Awesome post!! Gave me my morning laugh. Thanks Karla!
He's very adept at the nail polish lol!! I don't know how such tiny people can wreak so much havoc--but they can!!
My kids are perfect little angels who sit and do exactly what I tell them to do, the first time I tell them to do it, and never ever do the things I tell them not to do. They never have fits and always hug and love each other.
Did you know it's opposite day?
I love it! Oh, I got such giggles from this post. But would you please stop torturing me with the adorable pictures and just go ahead and send Z to me. ;)
Got something for you on my blog -- stop by when you get a chance.
I love all the photographs!

AWWWWW~ I LOVE your ending!!!
That is so true every once in a blue moon I will go out to dinner with friends. I will start to think I need a small break and when I am sitting there I just keep thinking about Josh. And how I much I miss him:(
Zander is too cute!!!
I have something for you :) Come see!
I know it wasn't funny at the time, but it is certainly funny to hear about it after the fact and see some of the pictures! Aren't toddlers fun?!!
Um I think my boys are related to your Zander.
At the very least they are BFF's & they plot against us on the phone or something.
My boys do the same thing to me (The sitting doing nothing ok But if I try to be productive it's a fight).
I really wish we lived closer you & Z would be fun to hang out with!
By the way thanks for stopping by on my special day!
