Tids-N-Bits - 7

What a weekend!
Friday night was my first night bowling. I blew the first game, but picked up on the last 2 to end with a fairly decent average (for me anyway) to start off the season.
I got hit on by one of the workers at the bowling alley too. He knew one of the ladies on my team and asked her to introduce us. She said he called me "adorable"....should I feel like a puppy? It was kind of awkward. I just don't have time for that. I guess that means I'm not really interested.
Saturday, Zander and I had lunch with my mom, as my Dad was out of town. We went to the Pasta House....which is my FAVORITE place to eat. It is a family owned Italian chain only located in the midwest. So, if you ever pass through St. Louis or Springfield, MO...and you see a sign with a HUGE tomato on it.....yeah, you should definitely eat there!
Late Saturday night the rain came. The rain - that was brought on by the cold front - that was brought on by Hurricane Ike. I had a bit of bad luck in that for some reason, which I still cannot explain, my sump pump was unplugged!!!! Yep, there is water in my basement. Now, I don't plan on whining about this (too much) because this was TOTALLY AVOIDABLE - unlike the people in Texas who's homes are now under water..... I'm just so aggravated with myself!!!
My poor sump pump is now working itself to death trying to get all the water out. The first 10 minutes after I plugged it up, it went off 6 times. The rain had stopped by then too. So, that is how fast the water under my house was filling up the bucket.
Here is a hillbilly solution my dad came up with for my sump pump earlier this year. The pipe we had run did not run far enough from the back of my house. With all the rain we got in the spring, my sump pump was working too hard then too. So, as a temporary solution, he built this to get the water away from my house. We never got around to running more pipe and I left his contraption up......THANKFULLY!!!! Because its working miracles in my basement right now!

I took my little carpet shampooer and ran it over the corner of my basement where some water came in and had to empty it 4 times. I probably need to go back down again and fill it up one more time before I go to bed..... At least I caught it before it did any permanent damage. I'm an idiot!!! I hope I forgive myself soon......OH, I can SO hold such a grudge!
Thankfully, my mom is keeping Zander tonight so they can sleep in a little in the morning and I could clean my basement tonight. He wasn't really feeling well today. I think he has allergies......unfortunately he probably got that from me. He had a runny nose and was VERY grumpy. (Yes, I know this is a sign he doesn't feel well because my grumpiness is the FIRST sign I'm getting sick). He also would hardly eat or even drink anything today. Poor little grumpy guy....
While I was watching out my back door as the sump pump kept going off....I got distracted by my little Hummingbird, Pedro (as I have dubbed him). I normally don't get to see him. He comes during the day while I'm at work. Today I saw him....he is green and beautiful. I couldn't get a good picture of him though.....he kept hiding and was SO fast. My mom told me that I actually have 3 different Hummingbirds that stop by......but I've only seen Pedro so far.

I just want to apologize now for not making my rounds in blogland as much. Its been busy at work and at home as well.
I do have some good Zander stories this week....he sure is a character. Sometimes its funny......sometimes its not!

I will leave you with this picture until tomorrow.

Ugh--we had awful rains too--non-stop all w/e--but luckily no flooding. I hate the whole basement/sump pum scene!

Such a cute pic of Mr. Z!!

Thanks, everyone! I ran a fan all night in the basement and the carpet is only slightly damp now. Whew!

Lizzy...you're gonna make my lay my average out there for everyone to make fun of, huh? Ok, its 110!
I totally bombed the first game with an 83....that was my 'Splits No Spares' game. Then I got a 127 and a 121. My overall average from 2 years ago was 109....so I started off better this year than I usually end it.

Sorry you've had a less-than-thrilling few days. I hope Z is back to the happy little charmer that he is in that picture soon!

Jacob is laying next to our Buzz About Mailbox ignoring it while he plays with a shoe.

I'm so glad that you caught your mistake before it was really bad.
That is one mess that anyone let alone a single mom needs.
I think it's Awesome that you go hit on even if you weren't interested, it means you've still got it going on sister!!!
Little Zander is as cute as ever, I hope he starts feeling better.
