I interrupt my regularly scheduled post of "The Blahs" to bring you much more exciting news!!!!
Check out this headline from Times Online:
He missed his plane yesterday amid some excuses from the military. I understand, they have to try to save face as to make this look like they had no wrongdoing in this. (Yes, I know....I'm judging....)
Anyway, I want to thank EVERYONE who signed the petitition. They were asking for 10,000 signatures.....currently there are over 50,000!!!!!
I'm so happy for this puppy and his soldier. But there are so many more out there! So, if you can, please support Operation Baghdad Pups.
I'm not suggesting that we bring all the strays in the world to the US, however, this is a ridiculous rule set by the military. I can understand why they must be cautious....but when a soldier is free to come home and wants to fund for the trip for one of these animals....what is the harm???? Please..someone make me understand (you will not succeed....but you can try)....
As for the cruelty that some of the military's brass how shown in the brutal murder of some of these animals....2 things: 1. They obviously lost their soul somewhere or never had one. Not sure I would want to serve under them. (ok, I can assure you I wouldn't) 2. We have laws in the United States against animal cruelty. No matter where you are in the world, you are still an American and MUST abide by those laws. They should be court martialed!
Ok, I'm getting worked up again....so I will stop that rant for now and concentrate instead on the immense happiness I feel there are over 50,000 people (not just Americans) who share my love of animals and know their importance in our everyday lives (see my regularly scheduled post below...I even mention my furkids today)....

What a story! I hadn't heard of it until now.
I'm so glad they have rectified this.
My ex was stationed in Morocco when he was in the Military and bought a doberman there... he bought a ticket on the plane for the dog.
