Tids-N-Bits - 10

On Saturday my parents came over for a 'work day' at my house. My mom keeps an eye on Zander while my Dad and I talk about what needs to be done and generally make more of a mess than when we started.

This weekend though, we actually got a few things accomplished.

He put up my other cat door in the basement. My cats are so big they need a door called what else - "Big Cat"cat door. That's right....their bellies drag on a normal cat door and they can hardly get through - this door is 2" bigger than a regular cat door...and rounded at the bottom for big bellies.

My Dad also finished putting up this door that he had to cut in half to get to fit in this space. This door covers the gas meter in my basement. I still need to paint all of the doors in the basement.

And he put up a hand rail for my basement steps. Well, 1/2 of one really. My wall is funky and comes out about 3 inches. So, we had one long rail and we cut it in half. I painted them. The bottom part of the wall is concrete. The top part is plaster so we're having a bit of trouble finding something to anchor it into. So, the top rail will be for another work day.

And then we worked on the swingset. No pictures of that yet! I'm trying to work up some suspense for it. I would have worked on that while he was doing the other jobs....but we both needed the same drill.

Sunday we didn't do much. Z started getting a cough about 3 days ago and its getting worse. I figured it was allergies, so I kept him inside. I've been giving him Benadryl and putting the baby vapor rub on his chest....not sure what else to do. I'm hoping it doesn't turn into Bronchitis or Pneumonia....it seems alot of people have had that recently.

Good thing Grandma got Z some new toys at a garage sale this weekend to keep him busy. She got this cool wagon filled with Legos for $3. And The Little People Circus and Zoo for $3 as well. She kept the zoo at her house for Z and Dara to play with there. That's fine......my house looks like The Little People are taking over!!!

My 'To Do' list keeps getting bigger....I can hardly keep up anymore....posts this week might be short....

So, gas last week was $3.57/gal. This week it is $3.37/gal. Uh oh....its getting closer to the $3.20s.....Hmmmm....I wonder what ficticious speculative event will occur to cause it to go up again!!!!
