First of all, I would like to thank everyone for their kind words on my post yesterday. I really appreciate all the support I get from my bloggy friends....I can always count on you to let me know if I'm right or wrong.....and hopefully love me anyway....
Ok, so I don't get to go out to movies much anymore. In fact, I think the last movie I saw in the theater was over a year ago - it was "The Bourne Supremacy"....maybe it was longer than that...I don't even remember.
But last night, I went by myself to go see the new Bond flick, "Quantum of Solace". I LOVE James Bond films. I don't even remember when I started loving them....so I will just say I've loved them forever.
I love the Christmas season where TBS...and now Spike Tv have "15 Days of Bond" and other Bond marathons. I have all of them on DVD....but I still love to catch the marathons on tv...I have no idea why that is where there are commercials in those.
I don't think I'm the average Bond fan though....Sean Connery is not my favorite.....actually, he's my least favorite.
When I think of James Bond, the character....he should be suave.....he should have a great accent.......he should be totally hot.....he should wreak of sexuality.....but he should also be tough (I mean, he does have a licence to kill)...and he should have a great body (you have to in order to be able to fight like that)....
Sean Connery was suave and sophisticated, but he didn't have that great of a body.....and he wasn't that tough. Also, I don't get the love of his accent....it sounds like a lisp to me....like he has spit in the corners of his mouth....yuck!
Roger Moore...he was the smartest Bond...you just couldn't outsmart him....but he also had a bad body and was not that great looking.....and Moonraker...need I say more about that atrocity???
George Lazenby.....he was a one hit wonder in 'Her Majesty's Secret Service'....and while that film was okay.....I don't know that I can say how I would rank him among the other Bonds because he only did the one movie.
One of the Bond fans least favorite Bond is Timothy Dalton.....and here is where I differ. I really liked Timothy Dalton as Bond. He was a tougher Bond....he was suave but was really the first Bond to show his anger. And, 'The Living Day Daylights' and 'Licence to Kill' were 2 of my favorite Bond movies.
Ah, who could forget Pierce Brosnan? Not I...he's a hottie!!! Soooo suave.....but not really believable as a tough guy. He had some of the best gadgets in his movies....those are always cool. He was too nice though....he just can't be mean enough.
But lets move on.....to the best Bond.....the "blond" Bond....Daniel Craig.....totally hot body.....steel blue eyes....brooding demeanor......totally suave....rocks some tight pants.....oozes sexuality....and totally believable in the fight scenes. Yep, he wins with me hands down.
Oh, did you want to know if I liked the new movie? Yes, I did! But I can see why some people were disappointed. I thought of this movie as the "segue" movie that you sometimes have to have in a series of movies. The movie that resolves something from a previous movie and opens up a new storyline for the next movie. And those types of movies can be disappointing...because they are sometimes just not enough. This one could have used just a tad more of character building.....I don't want to give away any spoilers so I won't say more. Lets just say, Bond was ticked....and there was quite a body count. But there were a couple of lines from Bond that showed a real human side to him....I did like that. He was fueled by revenge this whole film....but did retain some humanity....so you still were really rooting for him.
Here's really why he's my favorite though.....

***Ok, I won't be including this post when I put this blog in a book for Zander......this is probably TMI.***

Have to agree with you on The New Bond. But don't you think Sean Connery was a Hottie in his day, too? Listen, this post is EXACTLY why I've selected you to receive some Bloggy Bling. Please come by my place to collect your winnings!
Oh my! (Old lady fanning herself) He is nothing but yummy. The last Bond movie that I saw was in...1980? I was on a first date! First go to the movies without a parentdate. I didn't get to see any of it. I was too busy fighting off my own bad guy. Hmmmm maybe that was the day I decided all men are pigs! OK not all men. Just most 15 year old boys.
Oh my goodness...he is a cutie!
I like Bond movies...but I haven't seen the new ones...I was disappointed that they let Pierce Brosnan go...he was my favorite!
I love a well cut man emerging from the surf. MAN oh man, he's a fine specimen.
Nummy... simply nummy
Prior to "Casino Royale", the only Bond movies I've seen were a few with Roger Moore.
Daniel Craig is HAWT! That's him in my new profile pic...
I get a bit distracted when watching his movies, though... I think he has a constant pucker! Like, is he just making sure he's always ready for a kiss? From me? ;)
I do want to see the new Bond film, but I want to see this one more:

My goodness, I love those shorts. Best thing EVER.
I'm not really a Bond movie fan (husband is though!) but that Bond has a great bod!!
I was just telling my hubby the other day that Pierce was my favorite Bond. But after seeing these pix...Daniel is probably the yummiest!
I don't get the Bond thing. I have never seen ANY of them. BUT, that hunka burnin love? Whew wee. Thanks for that!
