Extra! Extra! Read All About It!

Here are some things I believe to be newsworthy today:

One of my favorite shows starts its new season tonight!
Damages!
This is only its 2nd season. It wasn't on last season because of that stupid writer's strike! The first season was unbelievable! It's written like Lost - where it has flashbacks and flash forwards! You really have to be paying attention. It is soooo well written.

The good thing about it too is that it is on FX! So they replay it about 3-4 times a week, in case you miss the first run. Also, they have two 10 minute recaps of the first season to get you caught up! I highly recommend this show!

Next, are you as excited as I am about Jan. 20th? How would you like to be there for the inauguration? Well, you can enter to get selected to go....today is the last day to enter. I think if I got picked to go, it would be an awesome birthday present!

So go check it out.....you don't have to donate to be eligible....

I was getting some stuff out of my garage the other day and found my DVD set of Band of Brothers. I fell in love with this when it first came out. I swear I could watch it over and over again....even though its sad...it makes me proud too!

After it came out, several years ago, I bought the DVD set off of Amazon or Ebay or something for like $30.....which was cheap then....I think it sold for about $85. The reason I mention that is because I bought it from someone in China....lol. It was an English copy that was the format we use.....but it has chinese writing all over it. This is the first time I've watched my dvds.....I wasn't really sure what I was going to see when I pressed play. I thought I might have gotten taken on that purchase.....but I'm happy to say they play perfectly.
I just finished the 6th episode which takes place in Bastogne....I swear I got cold just watching it. I highly recommend these to anyone that likes war stories...it is the story of Easy Company, 101st Airborne during World War II. I think one of my favorite things about how these were done is that there are interviews with the actual soldiers that are the characters the actors play.

Then there is my bloggy friend, Aubrey @ The Fam Five! She is having a super giveaway! It runs through the 13th....and here is what you could win if you enter....

This really cute bag

Filled with this really cool stuff!

Hmmmm....this would be a cool birthday present too!

Also, don't forget about the Pop'rs Giveaway going on over at Eat Your Veggies! Veggie Mom has featured my little Zanderman today too - since we have been lucky enough to be previous Pop'rs winners! Go and check this one out as well!

That's all I have for today! Have a good one!

I haven't seen Damages... but I did have F/X on last night... 'cause Nip/Tuck was back on! Yeah, baby! Love me some Troy/McNamara!

I love Band of Brothers. I'd like to have the DVD set. Anytime I see one of the episodes, or anything about WWII... it just amazes me that any of us are here. Both of my grandpas served in the war... how they survived when so many didn't...

I really love Glenn Close. She's from my neck o' the woods, ya know. And Veggie's gonna be tickled that you shouted her out. You're such a giving person!

Wow, you've go a lot going on today....
I've never heard of "Damages" I'll have to look into it.

I just found out the other day that my Best Friend's husband's (Best friend in law?) family purchased tickets 2 years ago for hotel rooms in D.C. (just hoping!!). How cool is that?!

I definitely concur with you about Band of Brothers...it's absolutely fabulous. But I must disagree with you on one point, even if you don't like war movies you'd like this (describing myself).
