Hello 2009!!!!

I didn't have a post prepared today....I thought I'd wing it my first day of the year! That is probably not the best idea I've ever had.

Zander and I stayed in last night. We were going to go to a friend's party....but the more I got to thinking about it...I talked myself out of it. Oh, I'm sure we would have had a great time and I would like for Zander to socialize with other kids more. But I totally got bad vibes about driving around with him last night. I didn't want to be on the road with him and take any chances. So, to ease my troubled mommy mind.....we stayed home and baked chocolate cupcakes.

Yuuuummmm!!!

That soooo rocks more than that nasty red velvet thing.

This is the first cake Z has helped me with. He LOVES the mixer.

He's becoming a pro at the beaters.....

So, for breakfast today, we each had a chocolate cupcake.

I wonder if that brings good luck for the year?

Like, only sweet things will come our way...

We didn't make it til midnight last night....Zander had meltdown around 11:00....he was ready for bed.

He said he wanted to go 'home'.

I said, "You are home. Do you want to go to bed?".

He said, "Okay. Bed."

And so we did.....and we slept until about 9:30 this morning!!! Yaaay!!!!

Then my Dad called...he was at Walmart looking at their Bibles and wanted to know what kind I wanted. He had told me before that if I would read it, he would buy me whatever kind I wanted. That is because I lost my NIV Teaching Bible when I moved into my house a few years ago. I can't find it anywhere. I can only find my New King James version.....and honestly, I do not prefer to read that version. My NIV one had a schedule in on how to read it in 365 days too. I really want that Bible back. So, anyway, I will get online later and look.....I guess reading the Bible is going to be a resolution for this year. They have several cool NIV versions out there that interest me.....so I just need to pick one.

There are several things I want to do differently this year. I hate to call them resolutions....because we all know we don't keep those.

And I really hate to say that one of the things I want to do is lose weight.....but....alas....it is!!! I know....the chocolate cupcake is already putting me behind the curve..... But, I just hate seeing myself in pictures right now.

Plus, I'd like to snag me a boyfriend this year too! I have no idea about how to do that.....where to start....or anything anymore.....but I know it would be easier if I weren't round.

I want to pay off debt too. I hate living paycheck to paycheck.....its so stressful. I want less stress. I need less stress.

And of course, I want to do a bunch of fun things with Zander. More of the zoo I'm sure....cause I love our zoo!!! I doubt he will sit through the shows...so we'll probably wait another year on that. Who knows though....he is growing up so fast....who knows how Zander will be in a few months.

And more visits to Grant's Farm. They have an elephant show too that I loved when I was a kid....but again, next year may be better for that for him.

Then there is the Magic House he has still never been too.

And, now that he likes baths again...I want to go swimming. There is an indoor pool near here so I want to take him pretty soon.

And lastly, but most importantly, I want to get organized. This is going to be "the year of organization" for me. I have a small house and cannot find anything!!!! Its soooo frustrating.

This post ended up being a little long.....so I'll talk about my organization plans later. I know, you are waiting on pins and needles because the subject is soooo exciting!!! Well, hang in there.
