Anonymous Commenters Need to Grow Pair!

Quite frankly I've been irritable lately. I'm not gonna lie about it. Not gonna try and hide it. I've been smoked out of my house, I miss my tivo, I miss my wireless, I miss me and Z being on our own schedule, I hate cold weather and I've just about had my fill.
Then, to top it all off I get this nice little comment today on yesterday's post from a BOLD (I say that sarcastically) Anonymous user. (I thought I had my blog set so it didn't accept those - how did that get switched back on?)
I thought this would interest you...

The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade this year. The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest.

I decided we would have an election for a class president. We would choose our nominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.

To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members. We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have. We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot. The class had done a great job in their selections. Both candidates were good kids.

I thought Jamie might have an advantage because he got lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia's mother. The day arrived when they were to make their speeches Jamie went first. He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best.

Everyone applauded.

He sat down and Olivia came to the podium. Her speech was concise. She said, "If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream."

She sat down.
The class went wild.
"Yes!Yes! We want ice cream."

She surely could say more. She did not have to.

A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream? She wasn't sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it?

She didn't know.
The class really didn't care.
All they were thinking about was ice cream.

Jamie was forgotten.

Olivia won by a landslide.

Every time Barack Obama opened his mouth he offered ice cream and fifty-two percent of the people reacted like nine year olds.

They want ice cream.

The other forty-eight percent of us know we're going to have to feed the cow and clean up the mess.
Well, Anonymous, I see a different take on this. You see, I see Jamie as "Obama" - promising something real. I see Olivia as the other party. The "ice cream" represents fear. This scenario is like the election from 4 years ago.
Flash forward to last year's election.....no one bought Olivia's "ice cream" offer because no could actually afford to buy anything. And Jamie won. And the Anonymous people that are so used to getting their ice cream are still pissed and whining about it.

I am not surprised that they could not put their name to the stupid comment...
I wish these same people were concerned about our money during the build up for the Iraq war...
We have spent our grand children future already on a war and yet we still have not caught Osama bin Laden! At least with this expenditure ...jobs may be created!
Last night watching this President speak...I could only thank God! Can you imagine McCain and Palin handling this mess?

Hahaa stupid anon knew where to come and pick a fight didn't they? Why don't people understand that we are all entitled to have our own opinions? Anyone could put who they wanted in Olivia's or Johnny's place, it's all in how you feel/view the world. I don't understand anon's...at all...they are stupid.
I think your awesome and I'm republican :) I think Obama was the best pick this time too.
Obama just needs 20 years to straighten this mess out.
