Sooooo close!

Ok, so I know, I went MIA again. Last week was a pretty bad week for me. Not all bad, but I had a meltdown day. I feel like I say that every week. I set a deadline for the contractor 3 weeks ago...I told him I was moving back in my house on June 26th. That is this Friday.

At the time, I actually stated Friday the 19th, but Friday the 26th was my absolute deadline. He seemed fine with that. But, he didn't really start getting any projects done. He kept sending 1 person to my house to work......oh, I think he sent 2 people 1 day. Whoop---deee--frickin---dooo!

So, as Friday the 26th gets closer......I get more and more stressed out. I saw nothing getting closer to being done. Now, mind you there are mostly little jobs left. But I have no confidence in this company anymore because everytime they do something, they mess something else up.

I mean...so far...they have turned off my electric resulting in rotting all the meat in my freezer (and since the sump pump was therefore off almost resulted in my basement flooding), left my garage door up when they left for the day, cracked tiles on my kitchen backsplash that wouldn't have needed to be replaced otherwise, gotten my basement carpet filthy by tracking down dirt and insulation (and they dripped paint on the carpet as well), they would use the basement toilet and NOT flush, OH....and we caught 2 separate workers smoking in my house! I have "0" tolerance for smoking.....especially in my house. How rude and unprofessional!

Today, there is a different crew of people working there. My contractor had to hire out to another company to get someone to come in and the hardwood floors in my house. Now, this was not part of the estimate that had to be done in my house. This is getting done because my contractor's workers scratched my hardwood floors in the front entry and in the hallway. But, because the hallway leads into the bedrooms and there would no good transition....they are having to redo the floors in the bedrooms too!

While this works out great in my favor since he can't charge me for this.....it is still eating up time because of the drying time. So, yesterday was the first time I saw my contractor worried. He had to get his brother in law that does tiling to come out and work on my bathroom last night.....because he hired the one slow sloth guy to do it and wasn't watching him. I kept telling him nothing was getting done. Now, he is literally out of time. Because, come Friday.....ALL THIS CRAP BETTER BE DONE!

Somehow, it relieved the knot in my stomach to see him squirming under the pressure!

I don't want to hear any excuses....they have been dragging their feet for weeks. My opinion on this is....if my job was a little job because my house isn't expensive and the fire wasn't that bad...then you should have been done quicker. And, if you are putting your worst people...and least amount of workers on my house because it isn't expensive...then you deserve all the extra expenses incurred because they screwed things up.

So, I've been keeping myself busy getting everything I need to move in...on Friday!

I got a new memory foam mattress and foundation....I can't wait to sleep on a new mattress!!!

I got a new flat screen tv and blu-ray player for the living room.

And, this wasn't covered by State Farm....but I bought a new "chair and a half" with an ottoman for the living room. I can't wait to sit my big fat lazy butt in that chair and watch some movies on my new tv!!!

On June 15th it was 4 months since that stupid little fire! Why do I seem to be the only one in a hurry to get me back in my house????

I've never seen it....but I think the first movie I will rent is "Falling Down"....somehow....I think I can relate!

Amen!!!
Sometimes I really hate contractors.
They always seem to make it harder on you & themselves.
