Wanna See My New Bathroom?

I thought I'd post pictures of my newly redone bathroom.

My whole house is tiny...and the bathroom is no exception.

But I must say....it has come a long way.

Here are pictures of the bathroom on the day my house was inspected.....before I moved in to do some major remodeling.

The linoleum on the floor was the 3rd layer of flooring that had been put down without removing any of the previous flooring. The sink was waaaay too big for this bathroom....oh, and it was butt ugly.

The medicine cabinet was butt ugly as well....and was mounted on the outside of the wall instead of into the wall....and the outlet was also mounted to the outside of the wall. How did this ghetto setup pass inspection? I have no idea.

Hmmm...what can I say about the wallpaper and the ugly curtain? Well...the curtain was hiding the most hideously dirty excuse for a window I had ever seen. There was actually a bird's nest in it. Seriously!

Also, I have a "no wallpaper" policy in my house.....I DO NOT like wallpaper. Ever! No exceptions! So all of that was ripped out of my house.

Why would anyone paint their heat register to match their ugly shower curtain? And even if you did...don't use your child's tempera paint. Seriously!

I don't know where my "after" pictures are that I took after I moved into the house.

But, here is one that kind of shows some of it. Unfortunately you can't see the new sink basin I put in. Don't get distracted by the cute little fat baby in the picture. Notice the carpet on the floor? I got tired of redoing floors by the time I got to the bathroom.....so I just threw down some carpet. We did fix the electric and put a mirror in where the old medicine cabinet was.

You can see here the old 50's blue tile. Which, I don't actually have a problem with that color....except you can't find it anymore. So....notice the white tile around the faucet. Apparently there was some plumbing problem before I moved in so they had to tear into the wall and they replaced part of it with white. Of course, they didn't see fit to update the faucet from the 80's. And the grout and caulking was molding and dirty and gross.....

Now, here is the new bathroom.....the new floor....the new window. Actually, pretty much everything is new but the toilet, the sink the tub and the mirror.....

I love the new tile floor. I think removing the other layers of flooring actually made the bathroom a tinsy bit bigger.

Those are my heat lights above the tub that my awesome brother in law installed for me when I first moved in so I could stay warm in the winter. That old window let a LOT of cold air in.

Same cute kid in the picture....but this time he is dressed...sort of...he is asking for some help in putting his shoes on in this picture. That is the new window behind him. I had to put the glazed film over it so I didn't give the neighbors a peep show when I take a shower.
So, I think I've done about all I can do in that tiny little room.

Wow! I love it. I want to redo my tiny little bathroom too. The people who owned the house before us put down new tile, but it is gray. Very ugly.

It looks so much better than the first version! I had a bathroom as tiny as yours at the old house but since moving to this one, I have a bathroom all to myself! I am not gloating....well, okay, just a little bit!

I love it! Looks 100% better than what you started out with!

What color did you paint the walls? I really like it. We have wallpaper in our bathrooms... I really want to take it down, especially in the bathroom the girls use. Hannah wants the bathroom to be done in brown and pink!

Wonderful! But why did you "censor" that beautiful little baby's butt? :)
