Zander and I spent a day with his BFF, Jaxen, and Jax's Mom, Kris. Kris and I were in the 'Prego Club' together - but that is for another post.
I tried to be ahead of the game by getting our stuff together the night before....Zander was not a lot of help - but was a lot of fun. Yep, this is apparently what he likes to do on a Friday night (that is a pair of his swim trunks on his head):
So, because I'm me, we were running late on Saturday. Kris and Jax live in Illinois....so we had to cross the mighty muddy Mississippi to meet them at their house. Jax's dad had so thoughtfully put Jax's spare carseat in their brand new pimped out minivan (with the built in dvd player that I want so bad) so that we could all ride to the pool together.

Jax has been taking swim lessons since he was but a wee thing. Zander has not and has developed a bit of a fear of water since our last trip to the pool. So, Z was not too keen on getting in at first and clung to me for dear life. But, he soon warmed up to it.
Then when they cleared the pools out for a 15 minute break we snacked a bit.

I told Z the snacks were all gone....he didn't believe me...
Z either ate faster than Jax or didn't eat as much (which would be a shocker), because believe it or not, he wanted back in the water.
I LOVE this next picture!

After spending about 2 1/2 hours at the pool (which is really good for these guys this late in the afternoon w/o their regular naps) we headed back to Jax's house with some pizza.
The boys played so well together. This is the first time they have actually played 'together'....its usually them in the same room playing separately. But you know, they are older now and more mature (something like that anyway).

Zander had Kris read him a couple of books....because that is how he rolls....
Then it was time to head home. Zander fell asleep before we even got back across the river.
I love it when he sleeps with his booty in the air!
That was at about 6:30 and he has been asleep ever since! He usually doesn't go to sleep until about 10:00.....so tonight might be a bad night for me. I pray he sleeps all night!!!

What cute boys! Looks like it was a fun day for you guys!
Sounds like a great day was had by all. I swear I just want to squeeze his little dimples!!!
Sounds like a fun-filled day! I love all the pics!
Those are some fabulous pictures! The one of Z dumpster diving is my favorite.
There must be a couple of seriously ugly kids running around somewhere, because Z got about three or four kids' share of cuteness.
Karla, those pictures are brilliant! Z is so cute, I want to munch him (English term, research it!). I know being a single mom is hard (believe me, I freakin' know!) but when you get to have all these memories and you get to spend days like this with them, it makes you feel so blessed. Ned has gone camping with his dad and I am so ready for him to come back!
How fun!!! I hope you got some sleep!!
I mean darn them are some super cute kiddos. Glad you guys had a blast.
Cute pics! I need to get Pickle some swimming lessons--she loves the water! Glad you guys had such a fun day!!
I love the pictures and yes I still love Zander. The other little guy is adorable too. Hope you got some sleep.
Aw, so cute. Looks like everyone had a great day. I love the booty sleeping in the air too! I cannot imagine having my kids up until 10. How do you get anything done? I LOVE my evenings when the kids get to bed. I am usually in bed by 9:30! Yes, I know. Pathetic.
He goes to bed at 10:00? That is crazy talk woman! All babies go to bed at 7:00 pm in my house. Anyways, your baby boy is precious and sweet. I love all the pics of him in the water:)
I could have sworn I left a comment earlier but I guess not.. hmmm... oh well..
Looks like a great time, Kris looks tan, did you get any color?
Are you excited about tomorrow? Miss me!!! :D

Yay! It's your special day! Congrats. Did you take the day off work? I totally would have just to sit here and refresh the screen every 4 seconds. LOL
I love the booty sleep too. There is really nothing better!
How cute! I love the little thought bubbles. Congratulations on being the featured SISTa!
What great pics! I'm glad Z warmed up to the pool. My kids are a little wary of water, too.
If it helps with your DVD envy, we have one that is not "installed" in our car, and I actually prefer it that way. I've heard that having one installed in the car can lead to heated debates during quick trips to Wal-Mart or the neighbor's... I recommend the kind that you can take out after a long trip--out of sight, out of mind... well, OK, not necessarily--but at least if it's not THERE, it's not an OPTION! :-)
Oh some of these are really great pics!
you should enter one in the contest at 5 minutes for mom!
Here from SITS! What cute boys! Looks like they were having some fun!!
