Tids-N-Bits

Gee, what's going on with me? Oh, not much:

I started reading "Twilight" Saturday night. Zander was a little gem on Sunday so I got more reading in than I thought I would. I'm more than halfway through now and its pretty good. Its a nice easy read....which is good considering I get interrupted a lot. Zander and the animals just would not go feed themselves....geez!

I have a feeling though that when the movie comes out I'm going to be disappointed. The guy that is playing Edward in the movie looks nothing like how I pictured Edward in my mind. And same with the girl playing Bella. Oh well....I will try to keep an open mind! The books are always better than the movies anyway.

The same thing with Harry Potter. The movies are good, but they are always a letdown from the books.....and they keep getting worse. I still can't wait for the next one though.

I've worried about Anakin all weekend. He really wasn't doing that much better as of yesterday. When I took him outside yesterday, there was a bunny in the yard. I could tell Anakin was in pain because he just looked at the bunny and slowly hobbled in the other direction. Not that I like him chasing bunnies...but I know he likes to do it so it broke my heart to know
he felt so bad he couldn't do it. So, I told him (yes, I talk to my dog) that if he
wasn't 80% better by today, then I would take him to the vet.
(Because you know he knows what 80% means)

Well, today I took Anakin outside and there was a bunny in the yard....and he chased it! Now, he wasn't as fast as usual, but at least I knew he felt better today! So, then of course I had to tell him to quit running so he didn't reinjure himself.....

I finished making another fleece 'tie' quilt this weekend. This one is for my Aunt Mary. Her birthday was July 25th...so I'm a bit late. She is having surgery today so she will be laying around the next couple of weeks. So, I wanted to be sure to get it to her for her recovery. I know.....its July and these types are quilts are HOT! But she is like me and is usually always cold (you know, at least when your AC is working).

For those who commented about the fact that Zander goes to bed at 10:00 PM......yeah, its kind of late. However, he's really not tired any earlier. He's not one of those kids that you can lay in his bed when he's awake and he'll lay there til he goes to sleep. He would scream bloody murder. Its just easier for me to try and do all the things I need to do before he goes to bed. Then he goes to bed with me. Hopefully, he drifts off to sleep before I do and then I can either get on the internet for a little while, or read a book.

Saturday when he went to bed so early (see previous post) he was sleeping in his bed - which I am not used to at all. I swear I checked on him about 20 times before I went to bed. I might as well have put him in my bed for as many times as I got up. He eventually woke up at about 3:30 AM soaking wet.....so I changed his diaper and put him in my bed. He laid there and talked to himself until about 4:45 AM. (sigh) But then he slept until 8:00 AM. Interrupted sleep is rough though....

So,I'm just working today and I'll watch Big Brother that I tivo'd last night.

I guess not much else is going on.....except.....

OH, I'M FEATURED ON SITS TODAY!!!!
WooooHoooo!!!!

(ETA) Ok, when your done enjoying my lovely blog, head on over to Martini Molly's Blog. She is doing a preview post of her new 'Fruitcake Friday'. She's answering a question of mine and she's hilarious....not to mention she has a cool British accent...

I have to learn how to make those blankets, they are so cool er warm?? I'm glad you didn't post any pictures of Z today while you are becoming famous. I don't want to share his cute little face with a million people ;D Congrats on the SITS today.

I am a very lucky mama, because I put Porgie to bed at 7:00, but she usually doesn't fall asleep until 9:00. She happily plays in her crib for hours. Izzy, on the other hand, goes to sleep at 7:00 for the night. He would never play in his crib for two hours.

Congrats on being featured on SITS!

You have to do whatever works for you as far as bedtime for Zander goes. Ned goes between 8pm and 8:30pm because he really cannot stay awake much longer. 9pm at a push which I consider late for him. However, he usually wakes up between 6am and 6:30am - EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK!! He also starts off in his own bed and then at some point in the night comes into mine and I either don't usually notice or am too tired to take him back to his bed!

That is one pretty fleece tie quilt - I LOVE red!

Hope Anakin is doing okay.

And your sleep schedule sounds a little like mine. For a stage I was putting my baby Esme to bed at 11 p.m., but then she'd sleep until 11 a.m., which let me get tons done in the morning. Unfortunately she's off that kick now.

Congrats on your SITS feature!! Exciting stuff!

That quilt is adorable and I'm glad doggie is feeling better!

Poor Anakin! I think it's just as tough on the owners as it is on the animals when they're not up to par. I hope he continues to feel better (he must've taken that 80% ultimatum pretty seriously).

Enjoy your SITS feature day!!!

Congrats on your SITS day!! Woohoo!

I'm about to go by the fourth Twilight book. Great series, so addicting. Once you start reading a book you can't put it down! I think the movie will be fun but not as good as the books. I will see it though. :o)

Came by via SITS! Yay on being FB!!

I don't put my 2 year old to bed until 10 either!! I find that he sleeps in longer and I don't know about you BUT I love when I can sleep in a little extra!

After hearing all the hoopla about Twilight, I went and put myself on our library's wait list. I hope the wait is worth it!! Sounds like it is!

Hey! Cute blog. I'm new to SITS so it's fun to be introduced to other people's blog. I'm almost to the half way mark for 'Breaking Dawn'. I agree about Edward. And now I'm angry because as soon as I start reading about him, all I can picture is Robert Pattinson! UGH! Anyways, you should check out this link. It's actually who Stephenie Meyer would have picked for her characters. Scroll down until you see 'Henry Cavill' and the second picture of him is TOTALLY how I pictured Edward.

Anyways, congrats on being the SITSta today!

I love those fleece blankets...it's a great project to work on with Zander when he's a bit older. My girls love to make them.
I'm buying into the "Twilight" hype; I just found out a friend has a copy and she's bringing it to me tomorrow. People keep comparing it to the Harry Potter books which I finally broke down and read this year...I was so hooked, I read all 7 books in a month. I don't remember who took care of my kids that month!
Again, congrats on your SITS day (and aren't you sweet for sharing some of the spotlight with Molly!)

Enjoying perusing your posts--the Z-guy is just too cute! Sorry he had that little toenail incident at his Granny's--but I had to laugh at the sock designed to keep him from being traumatized by the discolored nail--so funny!
Blessings!

My daughter is the same way, you can't put her to bed before she's really tired, it just doesn't work. And I so relate to the checking on the kiddo so many times that you might as well bring him to bed! We're used to her starting the night in her own bed now, but we pull her in with us when we go to bed to avoid that syndrome!
