My Son - The Addict

Is it bad that Zander is 21 months old and knows what the 'golden arches' are?

A couple of weeks ago Zander and I were driving home. Half way home he says "Fries. Fries. Fries." (You know....because little tots repeat everything a zillion times.)

So, we hadn't eaten yet and I didn't want to cook anything because I'm lazy for one reason or another so I said "Ok, we'll stop at McDonalds and get some fries."

He seemed pleased with that answer and was quiet for the rest of the ride.

However, I am prone to 'Mommy brain' or 'brain farts'....whatever you want to call them and I Totally. Forgot. To. Stop. At. McDonalds.

I pulled into our driveway and as soon as I did Zander yells "NOOOOOOO!!!" and starts bawling. Huge tears.

I was thinking something bit him or something....I had no idea what was going on.

I turned around in the seat and tried to get him calmed down. I asked him what was wrong and through his tears he pitifully said "FRIIIEEESSS!!!

Well, fiddle sticks! Stupid 'mommy brain' syndrome.

So, of course we went to McDonald's with me apologizing all the way.

This kid has a bad addiction though....EVERYTIME he sees the McDonald Arches....he wants fries!

I haven't even gotten him off the bottle yet and he is already addicted to McDonalds! What kind of fatcrack to do they put in those fries anyway???

Yes, guess what he had tonight........

(pardon the quality of the pics...they were taken with my razr phone)

Oh, gosh, I know how THAT goes! The Wild One was "addicted" to those very same arches; then came Wendy's, which isn't any better, just a differently shaped burger! She "saw the light" after watching "Super Size Me" in PE class. That shocked her into kicking the habit!

Pickle is addicted to fries as well--they would get along great! There is something drug-like about those McD's fries--I don't blame them for craving them!

They can be addicting --- jsut reading this post makes me want to run to those golden aches myself. I can usually get away with buying my kids apples.

I took little Ethen to McDonalds on Tuesday. We went through the drive thru and all the way home I had to keep reaching back to give him a fry. They are addicting!

Fatcrack...I love it. But how can you say no to the dimples??? You give that baby his fries and stop making him cry!!!

Oh Karla...those pictures just say it all..."I'm not happy until I am eatin my fries"...I am laughing out loud right now...and yes there is some kind of crack in them...even for me...because when I need a PMS pleaser, that's where I go...to the McD's drive thru for a little fix...with a diet coke of course!

Have you recovered from your SITS day!?

Oh no...we are right there with you. We can even pull away from the drive thru without giving Jaxen a couple of fries. I am trying my best to steer clear of Mickey D's. But the temptation is too hard to resist at times.

I love me some waffle fries from chic-fil-a. I have nothing so say about this cause everytime anything is mentioned about going out for dinner Calob always wants to go to McDonald's. And he's 9. I am no help I know this.

Ha! Look at that smile :)
I love that you call it Fatcrack. I feel the same way about Chick-fil-a's fries. They're totally addicting.

The quality of the pictures doesn't matter when the subject is so adorable. :)

When my niece was a toddler she'd hold a fry in her fist, eat the part sticking out, and then cry because she couldn't get to the part inside her fist. CRAZY people I tell ya!

That's hysterical - I love that you went back to get him the fries, what a good mom!

Well, I guess we'll never have this problem because we are vegetarians. I can't even remember the last time we ate fast food.

I love the little grin on his face! Those fires must be delicious!

McDonald's is my weak spot, it's terrible. I love it.

Last year we had the summer of McDonald's, and after swearing I wouldn't do that again...um, it happened again this year. It's so bad that when I drew an "M" to spell mommy, Elizabeth got excited, pointed, and said, "McDonald's!"

Ooohh, that smile (my heart is melting)!
My 2 year old says "mmmm"" everytime he sees those damn golden arches!

Look at that happy face! My son just has always referred to it as the cheeseburger place, and I am a bad mommy because every now and then I take him there for a cheeseburger. This week I introduced him to their chocolate milkshakes. Bad mommy!

I'm addicted to the golden arches fries to.
That would probably explain my butt.
Sometimes we just have to give them the little things like fries.
And look at that face how could you ever say NO!

All the more reason Z and Little Miss make a good couple. Z can have the fries while she eats the cheeseburger. ;)

OH, JDM....they would SOOO get along! I can't get Z to eat a hamburger for anything!!!! We just get the fries!

I guess there are worse things to be addicted to than MCD's fries. And I do have to agree with the little guy - those fries are the best!

What a smile!! I remember taking my kids to McDonalds! Dont tell anyone, but every now and then I go thru the drive thru and get some fries myself!

Mr Bump used to be like that, but something weird happened about 18 months ago.

He switched to Subway.
Voluntarily, I swear!

Now we'll be at the shops and he asks for subway for morning tea instead of McD's, cakes, donuts, whatever.

I even offered him those other things the other day out of curiosity and he insisted on subway!

I wonder if they're putting something in that honey mustard sauce, or something???
